<p>EASA has proposed delaying the Jan. 1, 2025 date for implementing EASA Part 26.205, which requires the installation of runway overrun awareness and alerting systems (ROAAS) on large commercial airliners and business jets. Because airframe manufacturers are reporting difficulties obtaining the required parts, the new rule will give system providers an additional 18 months, to July 1, 2026, to develop, obtain certification, and implement a ROAAS into production.</p>
