EuroAvionics is demonstrating Euronav 7, the latest version of its situational awareness and mission management system, here at Heli-Expo (Booth No. 6020). Targeting professional operators, the Stuttgart, Germany-based equipment manufacturer is offering moving map systems that can superimpose other data onto the map. Approximately 1,700 Euronav systems are installed, according to the company.
Eurocopter EC 145
A cornucopia of copters and rotorcraft-related gizmos, conference sessions and conversations awaits attendees at the Helicopter Association International’s annual Heli-Expo, to be held in Dallas February 11 to 14. This year, HAI is expecting more than 18,000 visitors, 65 helicopters and 600 exhibitors at the Dallas Convention Center.
Rescue organization DRF Luftrettung of Germany ordered 25 Eurocopter EC145 T2 light twins in November, thus becoming the largest customer for the new type. The contract is valued at EUR200 million ($270 million).
The aircraft will replace the DRF Luftrettung’s BK-117s. The first five red and white EC145 T2s will be delivered between December 2013 and late 2015. The remaining 20 helicopters are to be handed over in phases throughout 2022.
The British Isles, Eurocopter’s first market for civil helicopters, presents significant opportunity for the helicopter manufacturer, according to Eurocopter UK managing director Markus Steinke.

EADS North America said it has started deliveries to U.S. Army National Guard units of the UH-72A Lakota light utility helicopter fitted with special-mission package.
Eurocopter is upgrading most of its product range, with the goal of providing improved performance and reduced costs. The manufacturer is reporting progress on the developments of the AS350B3e Ecureuil (AStar), EC135T2e/P2e, EC145T2, AS365N3e and Super Puma L1e/C1e. All were announced at Heli-Expo 2011 in February.
Leasing group Milestone Aviation announced today its first deal involving Eurocopter aircraft through an agreement to place four new EC145s with Mexican operator Transportes Aereos Pegaso. The helicopters, which have just been delivered from Eurocopter’s factory in Donauworth, Germany, will be used for a support contract that Pegaso has with Mexican government utility group Comisión Federal de Electricidad.
Under a contract signed by Eurocopter Deutschland and Mid-Continent, Eurocopter EC135 and EC145T2 models will be equipped with Mid-Continent Instruments True Blue Power MD835 emergency power supply systems.
Eurocopter and Kazakhstan Engineering have signed an agreement formalizing a joint venture to assemble and customize Eurocopter EC145s at a new facility in Astana, Kazakhstan. Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering plans to assemble and deliver the first six of 45 EC145s the Kazakh government is acquiring through 2016.
