BBA subsidiary International Governor Services (Booth No. 7333) announced that it has selected Woodward as a licensed repair service facility for its fuel controls, fuel pumps and governors on the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 and PW100 and Honeywell TPE331 engines. These engines power a number of Bell, AgustaWestland and Sikorsky helicopters.

For the first time in North America, Italian OEM AgustaWestland (Booth No. 6937) is displaying here at Heli-Expo its complete family of new-generation helicopters, a lineup comprising the AW169, AW139 and AW189, along with the PZL-Swidnik SW-4, which is making its debut Heli-Expo appearance. The three new-generation helicopters cover the four- to eight-ton categories and share a common cockpit layout, design philosophy and maintenance concept.

Vincenzo Alaimo, managing director for AgustaWestland in Malaysia, signed a deal for 11 AW139s with Westar CEO Y. Bhg. General Tan Sri Muhammad Ismail Jamaluddin.

Malaysian operator Weststar Aviation Services yesterday ordered an additional 10 AgustaWestland AW139 intermediate twin helicopters. The company, which will use the aircraft to support offshore oil and gas industry activity, will increase its AW139 fleet to 34 once deliveries are complete.

AgustaWestland has opened an office in the Seoul to capitalize on recent sales success in South Korea. The subsidiary of Italian group Finmeccanica has about 50 helicopters of various types in service or on order there in military, parapublic or commercial roles. These include eight AW159 Wildcat maritime helicopters for the Republic of Korea Navy–the first export sale of this type. The manufacturer hopes that this order may be expanded. The AW139 is selling well for commercial applications.

Inaer Spain has won the tender issued by the Emergency Medical Service of Madrid for a four-year air ambulance contract with an option for a two-year extension. For the service, Inaer will operate an AgustaWestland AW109 and a Bell 412EP. It will provide four pilots, four copilots and four technicians. Both the crews and the helicopters will be based at Las Rozas and Lozoyuela heliports.
