An Airbus-led partnership with Air France and the air navigation service providers from the UK, Canada and the U.S.—respectively, NATS, Nav Canada and the FAA—plan soon to begin Transatlantic Green Flight (TGF) trials with an Air France A380 on revenue flights from New York (JFK) to Paris (CDG).

American Eagle’s first shipment of new airplanes in some five years began last month as the Dallas-based regional airline took delivery of two new CRJ700s from Bombardier. Scheduled to accept two airplanes each month for about the next year, Eagle as of last month already flew 25 of the Canadian jets, all of which offered a first-class section as of July 2.
Emirates Airline plans to reinstate Airbus A380 service between Dubai and New York JFK Airport on October 31, fifteen months after it ceased operating one of its superjumbos on the route due to insufficient demand. The decision to restore A380 service on one of Emirates’ twin daily JFK routes comes as the carrier reports an 8.1-percent revenue increase for the Americas for its 2009-10 fiscal year.
A new rule instituted by the Department of Transportation designed to prohibit airlines from subjecting passengers to lengthy waits on airport ramps takes effect tomorrow and will apply consistently across the entire U.S airline industry.
The effort to bring “humanity” back to air travel has guided JetBlue CEO Dave Barger's management philosophy ever since he landed his original job as the airline's president and COO in August 1998. While circumstances beyond its control certainly tested that doctrine at times, JetBlue never veered from its core values-thanks in large part to Barger, who, in May 2007, assumed the chief executive's role from its founder, David Neeleman.

Atlanta-based Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) last month launched a new code-share partnership with United Airlines covering flights into and out of Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles International Airports. ASA began the service with a February 11 flight between O’Hare and Columbus, Ohio. It now flies eight weekday flights from O’Hare and 15 weekday flights from Dulles using eight newly refurbished 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200s.
The underwear bomber’s abortive attempt to blow up a Northwest/Delta flight from Amsterdam to Detroit quickly overshadowed aviation’s other lucky break this past Christmas season–American Flight 331 from Miami to Kingston, Jamaica, which slid off a rain-soaked runway, breaking the fuselage in three places and injuring scores of people.
