Pats Aircraft Systems has received quality certification approval to ISO9001:2008 and AS9100 standards.

AS9100C includes all the elements of ISO9000, as well as additional requirements specific to the aerospace industry, and according to the Georgetown, Del.-based cabin completion and MRO center, “represents a significant advancement in the requirements for compliance.”

Chicago-based Dynomax has earned AS9100 Revision C quality certification. The company provides value-added engineering and high-precision machining, injection molding and tooling. “The primary differences between Rev B and Rev C is the inclusion of risk, project and configuration management, key process metrics, and expanded defense scope,” said Mike Martini, the company’s quality systems director.

Online flight-planning ­provider RunwayFinder shut down on December 13 in the wake of a patent lawsuit filed by Aurora, Ore.-based FlightPrep. The patent, which was approved in December 2009 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, applies to graphical route overlays on navigational charts via a Web page and using a remote (read Web server-based) chart database.

AS9100 addresses the diversity and complexity of the industry's supply chain and takes into account the complete life cycle of aerospace products. Summit's Middletown, Del. facility has held AS9100 certification since 2007 and recently has undergone a recertification audit.
