Design/build firm Tectonic Management Group has completed three new facilities at Adams Field in Little Rock, Ark., including a new FBO facility for Supermarine and two new corporate hangar buildings. The new Supermarine FBO includes an 11,300-sq-ft terminal and office attached to a new 24,000-sq-ft hangar as well as a new fuel farm with two 25,000-gallon tanks and one 12,000-gallon tank.
Rifton Aviation, the upstate New York FBO formerly owned and operated by the Bruderhof religious community, has been sold. Located at Stewart International Airport (SWF) in Newburgh, N.Y., the ExxonMobil Avitat facility now operates under the name Supermarine, a sister operation to the FBO of the same name in Santa Monica, Calif.
Pierre Clostermann, French World War II ace, aviation executive, author and politician, died on March 22 in France. He was 85. Clostermann joined UK-based French Free Forces in 1942 and flew Supermarine Spitfires and Hawker Tempests during the war. After the war, he wrote a book on his combat duty and served as a member of the French parliament from 1946 to 1969. He later served as CEO of Reims Aviation and a v-p of Cessna.
