Bombardier delivered a Global 5000 to Lebanon-based Jana Aviation last week. The ultra-long-range jet will be managed by Executive Aircraft Services and based in Beirut, Lebanon. This aircraft joined a Bombardier Challenger 300 already in operation in Executive Aircraft Services’ fleet.

Jet Aviation announced the appointment of Judith Moreton today as the company’s new vice president and general manager at its London Biggin Hill FBO and maintenance facility. The 25-year aviation veteran has previously held several high-ranking positions, including senior management positions with Shell Aircraft, operations manager for UPC Aviation Service and managing director of Bombardier Skyjet. In 2007 she received an award from EBAA for her outstanding contribution to business aviation.

VistaJet is slowing the implementation of its ambitious growth plans in the charter market but insists that its ambition to solidify its position as the number two service provider outside North America still stands. This year the company will take delivery of less than half of the 12 to 14 new aircraft it had been due to take, and it has adjusted its target of having a 100-strong fleet of jets by 2012 operating some 80,000 flight hours.

Fast-growing executive charter group VistaJet yesterday spelled out details of its new Flight Solutions portfolio. The Swiss-based group says that by operating closer to an airline business model it can radically change the economics of private aviation to make it a more viable option to a wider customer base.

German charter operator Jet Connection stopped flying early last month and appears to have ceased trading. The company’s management did not respond to AIN’s multiple requests for comment. However, a senior manager with a leading executive charter broker, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Jet Connection has stopped operations and said that he did not expect them to resume.

Zurich, Switzerland-based VistaJet Holding on July 1 announced that it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Bombardier Aerospace’s Skyjet International, a “global business jet charter service,” for an undisclosed amount. Skyjet has offices in London, Hong Kong and Dubai. According to VistaJet, the deal propels the charter firm to the number-two position outside North America and allows it to expand operations worldwide.
