Cardiff Aviation has partnered with Serco to provide painting and surface finishing services to commercial and government organizations in the aerospace, engineering and automotive sectors from its facilities at St. Athan Aerospace Business Park, South Wales. The new partnership combines Cardiff Aviation’s industry expertise with Serco’s experience in the highly specialized military aerospace re-finishing sector.

Bristow Helicopters inked a multimillion-dollar, five-year contract with a consortium of oil companies in the North Sea. The renewed deal was signed with the Integrated Aviation Consortium (IAC), which includes BP, CNR International, Fairfield Energy, Petrofac, Shell and TAQA. Bristow will thus provide helicopter services from Scatsta Airport in the Shetland Islands to the East and West Shetland Basins.

Britain’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) is considering plans to allow 30- or 40 percent more business aviation traffic at the Royal Air Force’s London-area Northolt base. At the same time, newly formed Northolt Business Aviation is preparing to offer unused air force hangar space to corporate operators.

Air Security International reported yesterday that at least three “explosive devices” detonated at approximately 4:30 a.m. local time on March 24 and bomb disposal technicians disarmed two others in Grand Junction, Colo. According to ASI, the devices were found outside the homes of employees of Serco Group, a company that operates the control tower at Grand Junction Walker Field Airport. No injuries were reported in the explosions.
