KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, in partnership with the Schiphol Group, Delta Air Lines and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey christened the first in a series of biofuel-powered flights between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on March 8.
Efforts to establish Lelystad Airport as the main business aviation gateway for the Netherlands have received a boost as a result of a recent Dutch government decision to allow the main runway to be extended to almost 6,900 feet.
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport will get a new business aviation terminal next year. The modestly sized 7,850-sq-ft building is to be constructed by the airport authority on the east side of the Dutch gateway, replacing the existing executive terminal. The facility could be open by the first quarter of next year.
