Sandel Avionics has shipped the first production WireWatch helicopter wire alerting system software upgrade to Agusta A109 operator North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsville, Minn. MSP Aero of Minneapolis is installing the upgrade.
The FAA issued an STC for installation of Sandel’s HeliTaws on the Bell 412EP.
Sandel Avionics has received FAA approval for a new reversionary attitude mode for two of its electronic primary navigation displays, allowing aircraft pitch-and-roll symbology to be presented on the nav display in the event of primary attitude indicator failure. The feature is available now for the company’s SN3500 (3ATI) and SN4500 (4ATI) high-resolution, LED backlighted navigation displays.
S-Tec (Booth No. 2293) has approved Sandel Avionics (Booth No. 4642) SA4550 primary attitude display for use with S-Tec’s System 55, 55X, 60-2 and 65
autopilots following successful flight testing.
Israel’s Elbit Systems announced that subsidiary Kollsman has acquired a 20-percent stake in Sandel Avionics of Vista, Calif. Valued at $12 million, the deal forms a marketing and engineering alliance between the companies and includes an option for Kollsman to buy the remaining 80 percent of Sandel within 30 months.
