The FAA has released details of how general aviation traffic will be severely constrained when President Obama stays at his Chicago home. Operators wishing to fly to Midway Airport will have to obtain a TSA special events waiver and undergo TSA security screening at gateway airports Rockford International, Greater Peoria Regional or South Bend Regional before continuing to Midway.
Raytheon Aircraft Services is expected to complete by June 15 the sale of its Rockford, Ill. FBO to Emery Air, one of its competitors at the Greater Rockford Airport. Emery said it plans to retain most of the 43 Raytheon employees and will remain an authorized service center for the Premier I and King Air.
The FAA is reviewing a proposed noise-compatibility program for Greater Rockford Airport in Illinois. The program, being formulated under Part 150, is scheduled to be approved or denied no later than November 4. Comments may be submitted until July 7.
