Robinson Helicopter is expected to announce factory-authorized dealers for the new turbine R66 this month. Robinson vice president Kurt Robinson said he does not expect all dealers of the company’s existing piston-engine R22 and R44 helicopters to become R66 dealers, in part due to a new Robinson-mandated requirement that R66 dealers hold a valid FAA Part 145 repair station certificate.

Robinson Helicopter has set an initial price of $770,000 for its Rolls-Royce RR300-powered R66 turbine single. The company has begun accepting $75,000 individual deposits and dealer applications for the helicopter. “We want to create a market for this helicopter,” said company vice president Kurt Robinson, explaining the price decision.
