+++RBR Maintenance works on a variety of business aircraft and engines at its Dallas Love Field facility.

RBR Maintenance has been in operation at Dallas Love Field since 1991, when founder Joe Burch leased space at the airport and offered maintenance on Gulfstreams and Hawkers. In the last 20-odd years the business has grown significantly from the original one-man shop and added aircraft to its capabilities.

Burch started out as a car mechanic and in the late 1970s took up flying as a hobby, got his pilot certificate and bought an airplane. Over the next several years he worked up to a multi-engine airline transport pilot certificate and started adding turbine ratings.

Zenith Aviation, a distributor of Dornier 328 parts and spares, is seeking multiple aircraft parts and spares consignment opportunities. The company recently invested more than $3 million in additional climate-controlled warehouse space and an automated inventory storage and retrieval system. The 44,000-sq-ft warehouse can hold up to 500,000 individual line items. According to the company, the consignor retains title to the parts until they leave the Zenith warehouse.

Duncan Aviations parts consignment program sold $1.07 million in consignment parts and rotables last year and saw the number of consigners increase by nearly 30 percent. Customer parts are stored in Duncan’s warehouse until sold. During the process, the consigner retains title to the inventory. Duncan Aviation also protects the consignor in case the purchaser defaults on payment and maintains insurance against casualty and subsequent loss.

Arnoni Aviation Services of Houston and several other suppliers of products and services for Hawkers have formed the Hawker 125 Vendor Committee (www.hawker125committee.com/). The group intends to provide operators of older Hawkers with a single point of contact to obtain technical data, parts and other services.
