ExecuJet Haite Aviation Services China, based at Binhai International Airport in Tianjin, claims to be making rapid progress toward becoming a fully functioning business jet aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) center.

GE Aviation and France-based Aeromecanic have signed an agreement for Aeromecanic to become an authorized service center (ASC) for the M601 and H80 turboprop engines. The ASC designation allows the MRO to offer comprehensive line maintenance, removals and re-installations of engines and LRU, on-wing heavy repairs and manage a pool of spare/rental engines for the Western Europe and North Africa region. GE Aviation will provide Aeromecanic with material support and training.

FOCUS on…MRO Operators’ emphasis on controlling lifecycle and direct operating costs (DOC) has thrust maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) into a lead role in rotorcraft operations, expanding the boundaries of MRO far beyond wrench turning. And with declining aircraft sales, OEMs that formerly ceded large segments of aftermarket services to third-party companies are increasing their involvement in the MRO arena. These trends are on full view here in Dallas at Heli-Expo.

JetFlite International has been awarded an FAR Part 145 repair station certificate for its JFI JetCenter on Long Beach Airport. The certificate allows JFI to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs and alterations.

Here at the NBAA show, the Canadian firm ran up another flag with the announcement that it has been selected by global cabin completions giant Jet Aviation to provide its full cabin telecommunications package for high-end interior outfitting.

Embraer Defense and Security has selected Liebherr-Aerospace to provide the environmental and cabin pressure control system for the KC-390 military airlifter. The systems will be developed and manufactured in Toulouse, France, and will feature integrated control architecture combined with high-reliability lightweight pneumatic and mechanical components.

Business Jet Access (BJA) recently celebrated the dedication of its Dallas Love Field facility. The new 50,000-sq-ft facility incorporates two large hangar bays and a main office terminal building. The MRO moved from a 20,000-sq-ft facility across the airport. BJA had formerly occupied hangar and office space co-located with its sister company, Business Jet Center, on the East side of the airport.
