Securaplane recently announced that CRS Jet Spares, a Securaplane mainship and emergency battery line distributor, has sold its 20,000th mainship battery. Securaplane emergency battery systems use Hawker sealed lead acid batteries instead of nicads and are either original or approved replacement equipment for most business jets.
The Hawker 43Ah steel case, sealed lead-acid battery has been STC’d for installation in the Embraer Brasilia. The unit was developed as a replacement for the factory-installed SAFT 4076-9 and 4078-10. It is already in use on the Bandeirante, Twin Otter and Dash 8.
Securaplane Technologies of Tucson, Ariz., has announced the availability of a sealed lead-acid battery for Gulfstream IIIs and IVs and Falcon 2000/2000EXs. The EnerSys Hawker battery is a direct replacement for the Ni-Cad battery and does not require any modification to the existing charger or battery-temperature system on the aircraft.
Duncan Aviation has signed an agreement with Securaplane Technologies to provide sales and service on Hawker pure lead SLA batteries. The Hawker mainship battery is a no-maintenance, pure lead battery that can be shipped as non-hazardous/non-spillable. The battery can also be stored fully charged for up to 24 months with no ongoing maintenance or top-charging.
Mid-continent Instruments (www.mcico.com), based in Wichita, has been marketing its 4300 series electric attitude indicator since the middle of last year. What makes the instrument notable is its lead-acid cell array battery backup, which provides up to 60 minutes of operating time in the event of an electrical failure in the aircraft.
Securaplane Technologies has signed new distributor agreements for Hawker main ship batteries with Corporate Jet Support, Cirrus Aero Accessories and CRS Jet Spares.
Duncan Aviation (Booth No. 5100) was recently awarded an STC for installation of Securaplane main ship batteries for Falcon 900/900EXs. This STC covers Falcons with existing Nicad or lead-acid type batteries.
The company is authorized to provide sales and service on the Securaplane “pure lead” SLA batteries and is an authorized Dassault Falcon Jet service center at its Lincoln, Neb., and Battle Creek, Mich., locations.
Securaplane came to NBAA this year flush with new business, ranging from a contract to supply cameras for NASA’s Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (Sofia) to a more down-to-earth distribution deal for battery sales and reblocking services.
Cantec Systems of Ontario, Canada, is the latest company to sign a distributor agreement with Securaplane Technologies to offer Hawker main ship batteries. Cantec is an authorized Canadian value-added center for power products and has been supporting Canadian military land vehicles, aviation, portable power, telecom, UPS and industrial customers with pure-lead technology for more than 20 years.
Aero Battery of Cincinnati has received its first FAA Diamond Award, with all of the company’s technicians having received FAA-approved training last year. Aero Battery has been selling and servicing aviation lead acid and nickel-cadmium batteries since 1973 to operators in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.
