Helicopter operator Inaer, which is part of the Avincis group, has been awarded a five-year contract for emergency medical services in France’s Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Starting January 1, five Eurocopter EC135T2+s will be dedicated to Marseille, Avignon, Toulon, Nice and Gap hospitals. Avignon and Marseille bases will be subcontracted to Mont Blanc Hélicoptères, with the latter city’s helicopter being available around the clock. It is the first time a contract that includes several hospitals has been signed in France.
Eurocopter expects to ramp up production of the EC225 medium twin and AS350 Ecureuil light single by 30 percent and 20 percent, respectively, at its Marignane, France factory. For “better reactivity,” it has signed an agreement with Segula Technologies to take over the latter’s “structure assembly” activity in the neighboring city of Aix-en-Provence.
Signature Flight Support began service at Hyeres Airport (TLN) in Toulon, France, on January 5, operating out of the main terminal until the new purpose-built, 4,000-sq-ft facility is completed. The new FBO complex is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of this year. Bruno Hardy will oversee operations at the FBO and will report to Louis DeMarque, general manager of Signature’s facility at Paris Le Bourget Airport.
