Eight European operators have combined to form a new charter alliance called AirClub. The partnership, announced on December 12, brings together ACM Air Charter, Air Alsie, Air Hamburg, Corporatejets, Flyinggroup, GlobeAir, Masterjet and PrivatAir. Among them they operate 106 aircraft, covering a wide spectrum of range and payload capabilities, from the Beechcraft King Air to a Boeing 757.

Belgium-based Brabus Private Aviation is offering executive and VIP cabin interior design for helicopters. Completion or refurbishing work will take place at Ruag Aviation’s Munich, Germany facility. France’s Happy Design Studio will provide livery design and the paint job. Finally, Switzerland-based PrivatAir will provide “sourcing, purchasing and aircraft management services.”

Four companies received the Safety of Flight Award at EBACE 2012 in Geneva, earlier this month.

DC Aviation, TAG Aviation and PrivatAir won the platinum award for achieving at least 50 years, or 100,000 hours of safe flying. VistaJet received the silver award for 30 years, or 60,000 hours, of accident-free flying.

Boeing and Lufthansa on December 6 plan to begin pre-delivery testing of the first 747-8 Intercontinental at the airline’s main operations base at Frankfurt Airport. Scheduled to last until December 9, the testing will help ensure a smooth integration of the newest 747 into Lufthansa’s operations, according to Boeing.
