The Bell 412EPI will be cleared for more procedures at elevated helipads early next year, according to Bell Helicopter, which is launching an upgrade program next month to incorporate improvements to increase operational flexibility for CAT A Part B procedures. The program will cover the use of circular and rectangular elevated heliports and should be finished in time for initial deliveries of the 412EPI in the first quarter of 2014, said the company.

Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services North America (HSNA) has named Eric Hicks as regional sales director for Western Canada, Alaska and Hawaii. Hicks will support helicopter operators across Western Canada from British Columbia to Saskatchewan, the Yukon, Northwest territories , Alaska and Hawaii, representing HSNA’s Rolls-Royce 250, Turbomeca Arriel 1 and 2, Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T, GE CT7A and CT58 engine lines as well as providing helicopter dynamic component and airframe and avionic MRO services.
Southeast Turbines has completed renovating its 10,000-sq-ft facility at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. The FAA-certified repair station specializes in the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A, PT6T and JT15D. Southeast Turbines’ capabilities include on-wing hot-section inspections, compressor-turbine disk reblade, true and balance, small exit duct rework to include “zero grind” hot-section installations, unscheduled power section repairs, fuel nozzle cleaning/recertification and bleed valve overhaul.
Shadin Avionics (Booth No. C7027) announced its new AIS fuel flow “behind the glass” system for the new Bell 412EPi at Heli-Expo ’13.

Bell Helicopter announced upgraded variants of its Model 407 and 412 helicopters today, and the Fort Worth, Texas-based company is displaying them this week at Heli-Expo, which opens tomorrow in Las Vegas.

BBA Aviation unit H+S Aviation recently announced an expansion of its CT7 series engine care management program (ECMP) and engine overhaul subcontract agreement (EOSA) with GE Aviation. Based in Portsmouth, UK, H+S Aviation provides engine service and support for a variety of turbine engines for fixed- and rotary-wing civil and military aircraft.
Lisa Cooper has been appointed regional sales manager for BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO). Cooper will provide sales coverage for the UK, Spain, Ireland and Portugal. She is a 20-year veteran of H+S Aviation, a BBA Aviation ERO company. At H+S Aviation, Cooper worked on the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW100, PT6A and PT6T and Rolls-Royce M250 engine repair and overhaul programs. Cooper will be based in Portsmouth, UK, at the headquarters of H+S Aviation.

Today the company hosts Technical Briefing sessions in room C140 at the Dallas Convention Center for operators and maintenance personnel of PT6 (11 a.m.), PW200 (12 p.m.) and PT6C-67C (1 p.m.) engines.
