The Czech capital Prague is set to host the third annual Cepa Expo conference and exhibition at a time when the pace of business aviation growth in Central and Eastern Europe continues to outstrip that in the West of the continent. The November 28 to 30 event is organized by the Central Europe Private Aviation Association (Cepa), which was formed in 2009 to promote the industry’s interests in countries such as Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, the Slovak Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia.

An ATR 42-500 was destroyed and one maintenance worker was injured in a June 9 fire at Praha-Ruzyne International Airport (LKPR), Prague, Czech Republic. The airplane was parked inside Czech Airlines Technics’ Hangar F for maintenance when an explosion occurred, followed by a fire that destroyed the twin turboprop.

Prague-based aircraft charter and management provider ABS Jets recorded its best-ever revenues in 2011, breaking the CZK1 billion ($51 million) barrier for the first time. While this represents an increase of 2 percent over the previous year, gross profits increased by 23 percent compared to 2010, to CZK44 million ($2.25 million).

The Central Europe Private Aviation Association (CEPA) will hold its second annual conference in the Czech capital Prague on December 1 and 2. The CEPA Expo event, which includes an exhibit area, will feature an agenda focusing on how business aviation is developing in what is currently Europe’s most vibrant market.

Cepa Expo will be held at Prague Vodochody Airport in the Czech Republic from September 29 to October 1 next year. Cepa expects the new show to draw at least 120 exhibitors and generate revenues of almost $1.4 million.

The new Central Europe Private Aviation industry association has launched plans for a new business aviation trade show focused on central and eastern Europe. The first Cepa Expo will be held in the Czech Republic at Prague’s Vodochody Airport from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, 2011. The first two days of the event will be for trade visitors only, followed by a public day on Saturday, October 1.

The new Central Europe Private Aviation Association (Cepa) will hold its inaugural conference in the Czech capital Prague on April 22 and 23. The group has been formed to represent and coordinate the interests of business aviation companies in new European Union states. At the conference, the association plans to make an announcement about what it describes as a major new project to bring together Europe’s business aviation industry.

Flight-planning and ground-handling specialist group Feras has opened a new operations center at Prague in the Czech Republic. Feras specializes in supporting operations in the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as eastern and central Europe. Its main headquarters is in Moscow. The new operation is led by Olga Lomteva, who has been the company’s Moscow operations manager for the past seven years.
