Hillsboro Aviation has come a long way since it opened in 1980 as a helicopter training school. Today, the Oregon-based company offers aviation services ranging from charter and maintenance to aircraft sales and FBO operations. Headquartered at Portland-Hillsboro Airport, the company, which has a staff of 225 employees, operates a satellite facility in Portland as well as two flight-training centers–one in Troutdale and another in Prineville, Ore., as well as a seasonal helicopter tour operation at Mount St.

The recently launched UVair FBO Network–an alliance between Epic Aviation and Universal Weather & Aviation’s UVair Fuel Program–announced it has added 10 members: in Colorado, Denver Jet Center at Centennial Airport; in California, Napa Jet Center at Napa County Airport, Jet West at Salinas Municipal Airport and both Maguire Aviation locations at Van Nuys Airport; in Texas, Textar Aviation at Dallas Love Field Airport; in Michigan, Grand Rapids Air Center; in Or
Atlantic Aviation moved to expand its Pacific Northwest footprint when it agreed to purchase the FBO assets of Oregon-based Flightcraft. The Oregon company operates the sole FBOs at Portland International Airport and at Mahlon Sweet Field Airport in Eugene, Ore.
Independent FBO network Paragon Aviation Group has added five members: Maguire Aviation at Van Nuys Airport (VNY) in California, Aero Air at Portland-Hillsboro Airport (HIO) in Oregon, Galvin Flying Service at Boeing Field/King County International Airport (BFI) in Seattle, First Aviation Services at Teterboro Airport (TEB) in New Jersey and XJet at Centennial Airport (APA) in Colorado.
Seven FBOs have left the Million Air franchise system and switched to a new brand name, Odyssey Aviation, having joined in a marketing partnership with the Odyssey Aviation Bahamas FBO at Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau. Odyssey Bahamas also used to be a Million Air franchisee.
Due to challenges in the overall Northwest U.S. business sector, Portland, Ore.-area FBOs serving corporate aviation clients have structured their operations to attract clients from a greater radius.
