Sabreliner has opened a new $7 million aircraft paint hangar at its Perryville Municipal Airport facilities in Perryville, Mo.

The 32,000-sq-ft facility, sized to accommodate aircraft up to the size of a GIV, includes a large bay for stripping and prep work and another for paint application. The climate-controlled facility features a three-stage filtration system. Workers use an electrostatic paint process that reduces the amount of paint used as well as the total emissions.

Sabreliner announced it has recently completed its first Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) on a Learjet 35 air ambulance. The OEM has teamed with L-3 Communications Flight International in Newport News, Va., to perform SLEP services and uses L-3’s FAA-approved STC. The aircraft is owned and operated by Aero Jet International, a Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based air ambulance company with more than 18 years experience in the industry.

Sabreliner will create approximately 400 new jobs over the next four years as it expands its operations. The company has broken ground for a 27,000-sq-ft aircraft stripping and paint facility in Perryville, Mo., that will enable it to accommodate more customers and aircraft up to the size of the large-cabin Gulfstreams.

Airmark International, an independent Learjet parts distributor, has teamed with aviation services provider Sabreliner to install Airmark-provided GKN Aerospace windshields in Learjet 24/24D/25/28/29/35/36s.

Sabreliner aircraft owners and operators are gathering tonight to recognize those among them who have flown one or more of the iconic business jets for 25 years or longer. Operators and industry officials are invited to attend the Sabreliner celebration being held at the Portofino Bay Hotel. Sabreliner Corporation is also celebrating its 25th year as an independent company.

As the first steps in its strategic plan to concentrate Sabreliner’s future growth on airframe maintenance, modification and completions, the St. Louis-based company in late April sold its major engine repair and overhaul subsidiary Premier Turbines to BBA Aviation Services Group, where it will be managed by subsidiary Dallas Airmotive.

Since the sale of its Midcoast Aviation subsidiary last year, Sabreliner has returned to its roots by refocusing on providing resources and a continuing commitment to supporting the Sabreliner fleet.
