With Orlando rapidly becoming the NBAA Annual Meeting and Convention’s unofficial home, the area is banking on the event–currently ranked as the nation’s fifth largest tradeshow–to provide a boost to the local economy.
Tradeshow Week announced that the NBAA Convention rose to the fifth position in its rankings of largest trade shows in the U.S. last year. In 2007 the NBAA event was listed as the 10th largest show and in 2006 it was ranked at number 37. This year’s NBAA Convention will be held from October 20 to 22 in Orlando, Fla., the same location as last year.
Continuing what is expected to become an annual tradition, NBAA once again partnered with the nonprofit organization KaBOOM to build an aviation-theme playground for local kids. On Saturday, more than 250 NBAA members and community residents volunteered their services to construct the playground at the Hollowbrook Apartments near Orlando Executive Airport, the site of this year’s NBAA static display.
