Tac Air has reached an agreement with the Omaha Airport Authority to construct a new 2,200-sq-ft Customs and Border Protection facility adjacent to its terminal at Eppley Airfield (OMA) in Nebraska. “The location of this new customs facility will allow seamless ground handling for international arrivals into Omaha,” said Mike Wilwerding, the service provider’s OMA general manager. The building is expected to be completed by the middle of the year. Tac Air has been providing fueling for commercial, military and general aviation aircraft at the airport since 1998.
Duncan Aviation Lincoln has always had a Gulfstream presence, but the unveiling of the 45,000-sq-ft paint facility last May and construction of two 40,000-sq-ft maintenance hangars scheduled to be in service in Lincoln next year have paved the way for team members to offer both paint and maintenance to Gulfstream operators.
FBO chain operator TAC Air last week completed an extensive renovation to its facility at Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Neb. Interior improvements included a new ceiling, wall and floor coverings; a refinished lobby with new furniture throughout the facility; remodeled restrooms; a modernized conference room; remodeled pilot lounge with HDTV and work stations; enhanced WiFi connections; and an upgraded weather/flight planning room.
NetJets parent Berkshire Hathaway reported yesterday that its other businesses, which includes NetJets, grew 2012 revenues to $2.152 billion in the second quarter and $4.199 billion in the first six months, up 3 and 4 percent, respectively. Earnings in 2012 reflected increased earnings at NetJets and earnings from the Omaha World-Herald.
StandardAero’sOmaha regional service center completed its first line-level inspection of a Honeywell TFE731 engine since acquiring the Honeywell line-level service authorization this past June. Technicians completed 150-/250-hour and 300-/400-hour engine inspections on all three engines of a Falcon 50 for an Eppley Field-based corporate customer, and they did it while watching the Missouri River threatening to flood the airport.
Armed with talking points ranging from FAA reauthorization to long-term leases at airports, members of the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) launched an assault on Capitol Hill last month seeking assistance and empathy from their elected members of Congress.
The first phase of Elliott Aviation’s renovation of its Omaha, Neb. FBO (including 2,000 sq ft added to the lobby) should be completed next month. After the lobby is done, the passenger and pilot lounges, conference rooms and restrooms will be refurbished and 2,000 sq ft added to the maintenance facility. The second phase includes installation of a curved glass wall that allows visitors to see inside the maintenance hangar from the FBO lobby.
