Business aircraft management and charter operator Zenith Jet and noise reduction specialist Aviation International Management Services (AIMS) have teamed to launch a new thermal acoustic barrier package that promises to reduce cabin noise by up to 30 percent. AIMS is supplying the kits and Zenith Jet is the exclusive marketing agent.

LEARJET 55 AND EXTRA 300, BOCA RATON, FLA., JUNE 23, 2000–“The failure of the pilots of both airplanes to maintain a visual lookout (while climbing and maneuvering) resulting in [an] in-flight collision and subsequent collision with residences and terrain” was the probable cause determined by the NTSB. The midair occurred in VFR weather, with a reported ceiling of 25,000 ft and 10 mi visibility.

Bombardier Learjet 35, San Antonio, March 15, 2008–The American Jet International Learjet 35 overran Runway 21 landing at San Antonio. The two crewmembers, the only occupants, were not injured.

After a Learjet 55 on an IFR flight from Syracuse, N.Y., on February 26 lost voice and transponder communications over Holston Mountain, Tenn., ATC notified the military and two F/A-18s were dispatched to escort the business jet to Florida’s Jacksonville Airport, the closest suitable facility in VMC.
