The French and German governments have agreed to reduce their shareholdings in EADS to 12 percent each, and drop their veto rights over key decisions. Spain will hold 4 percent. EADS said the pact will normalize and simplify its governance, while still allowing the three countries “to protect their legitimate strategic interests.”
Surprise, surprise: Airbus CEO Tom Enders is to be the new chief executive of the European airframer’s parent group EADS, succeeding Louis Gallois, who is due to step down—at the end of his mandate—after the company’s annual general meeting on May 31.
The ATR Assembly of Members has named Stéphane Mayer, 44, CEO of the company effective June 1. Mayer succeeds Filippo Bagnato, whose three-year mandate expired at the end of May and who now serves as chairman of the board of directors.
