Internationally there is a platinum service center in Istanbul, a gold in Germany and additional gold and silver service centers to come.

Currently Eclipses are certified in 49 countries, and Eclipse Aerospace CEO Mason Holland told AIN, “We are in the third quarter for the Eclipse 550 so we’re focused on support.”

Honeywell Sky Connect Allows Satellite Tracking And Comms

Honeywell’s Sky Connect Tracker III combines voice, text and flight-tracking technologies into a single system designed for helicopters. Sky Connect uses the Iridium satellite communications network, and operators can use Sky Connect to make voice calls at the same time as sending text messages and tracking the helicopter’s position anywhere in the world.

StandardAero’s AAC Gets Chinese Part 145 Approval

Associated Air Center (AAC), StandardAero’s (Booth P716) large transport category VIP completions center, based in Dallas, Texas, has received approval as an authorized maintenance organization in China. The approval, granted by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), is for a Part 145 approved maintenance organization (AMO)–covering maintenance and modifications on Chinese-registered aircraft.

Heli-One Adds MRO Facility in Poland

CHC maintenance, repair and overhaul subsidiary Heli-One has opened a facility in Rzeszow, Poland. Work has begun on Heli-One Poland’s first project: the major overhaul (G-Check), repaint and modification of a CHC AS322L Super Puma. By year-end “a new, customized hangar” will replace the current temporary facility. The company plans to invest “more than $15 million in building costs, purchasing, training and other expenses related to the operation.” Heli-One’s fourth major workshop location, the new site is expected to employ more than 100 people by 2015.
Jet Advisors Intros Private Jet Index for Buyers

Bedford, Mass.-based Jet Advisors is offering a new tool, dubbed the Private Jet Index, to support the aircraft-selection process by ranking and statistically scoring more than 30 parameters. Company president Kevin O’Leary said the patent-pending index also considers the needs and wants of each individual buyer and then weighs the aircraft scores accordingly.

The latest data from online charter portal Avinode shows a contrasting picture of demand fluctuations on either side of the Atlantic Ocean. Its forward-looking demand indices for March 4 shows demand in Europe picking up significantly in the light, midsize and heavy jet categories tracked, with the biggest increase being in the midsize segment where the index rose by almost 67 points month-over-month, to 184.6.

Atlantic Aero Adds Citation X to Repair Station

Atlantic Aero has received FAA approval to add the Cessna Citation X to its repair station license. The MRO has invested more than $150,000 in new tooling, training and other related expenses to support Citation X certification. The company has a long history working with the type by providing interior updates for Citation X operators, and the addition of the product to Atlantic Aero’s repair license enables the facility to provide maintenance.
