Greenwich AeroGroup is in the process of forming a dealer network for installation and certification of LiveAero systems.

LiveAero is a development of LiveTV of Melbourne, Fla. According to the company, it is the only fixed-wing and rotorcraft data broadband solution that works everywhere in the world, including remote oceanic and polar regions, for passengers requiring smartphone, tablet or laptop connectivity.

As Inmarsat prepares to launch the first Global Xpress Ka-band satellite later this year, Honeywell engineers have successfully completed the preliminary design review of satcom hardware that will be installed in aircraft. The review covered the satcom terminals and antenna subsystems that Honeywell will manufacture for commercial and business aircraft. This included “external interface control documents and fuselage- and tail-mount antenna specifications,” according to the company.

EMS Aviation, now a Honeywell company, is continuing to find customers for its Aspire 200 LG data connectivity system. Anderson Aviation recently selected the system for a Citation Sovereign to be operated by the Vancouver, B.C., charter and aircraft management firm on behalf of the airplane’s Canadian owner.

Honeywell and Thales Avionics have taken the wraps off a new high-speed-data hardware package that enables the companies’ satcom systems to handle data at rates as high as 128 kbps. First installations of the HS-700/702 will enter service this summer, according to Ken Snodgrass, director of radio frequency communications systems for Honeywell’s business, regional and general aviation avionics division.

Embraer this spring expects to complete certification that will increase the service ceiling of the Legacy business jet from FL370 to FL410. Later this year, Embraer will introduce an optional Chelton data system that will boost the Legacy’s high-speed connectivity from the current 128 kbps to 432 kbps. A new cabin LED lighting system and pleated mechanical window shades are also scheduled to be integrated into the Legacy later this year.
