Zurich, Switzerland-based AC Aviation Charter has opened a new office in Vienna, Austria. Three charter sales agents will be based in the new office in Vienna, and the team will be lead by Bernhard Wipfler. The company’s current charter management fleet consists of two Learjet 40s, three Falcon 900s and a Beechjet 400A, Citation XLS, Challenger 605 and Challenger 850 and GV.

Second-quarter 2013 earnings are likely to bring few signs of recovery for aviation, according to the July Business Jet Monthly report from analyst J.P.Morgan, which highlighted several manufacturers.

The report predicts that demand for smaller Cessna Citations will remain depressed but “We will look for more color on the Sovereign and XLS, key midsize offerings.”

Vienna-based International Jet Management has signed a deal with Jet Aviation Basel for the MRO to provide line and base maintenance for the company’s fleet of managed and charter aircraft. Currently covered under the terms of the agreement are two Globals, one Challenger 850, two Challenger 605s, one Challenger 604, two Challenger 300s, one Learjet 40, one Citation Excel, seven Falcon 900s, one Falcon 2000 and one GV.

Steve Varsano, founder of private aircraft sales company The Jet Business, took AIN through the selection process for a typical customer based in Dubai and wanting a jet that can fly nonstop to and from London. With a required range of 2,955 nm, The Jet Business database indicated it contained 26 suitable aircraft, such as the Bombardier Challenger 605. To go travel further, the shortlist could be extended to include a Gulfstream G550, Dassault Falcon 7X and Bombardier Global Express.

Cooling demand from the recently buoyant Chinese market for business jets is set to result in weaker overall sales for 2012, Gulfstream Aerospace president Larry Flynn said this week at Jet Expo in Moscow. The U.S. manufacturer has seen a dip in new orders from China this year in a reversal of last year’s market conditions in which Flynn said, “Overheated orders from China drove our 2011 sales well ahead of plan.”

Crediting “unprecedented growth,” Aerospace Technologies Group unveiled a new 65,000-sq-ft corporate headquarters in Boca Raton, Fla., on March 5.

The new headquarters is the workplace for 130 manufacturing, administrative, research and development personnel and functions as the site for the group’s various production lines.

ATG was founded in 1998 and designs and produces window shade systems for both business aircraft and airliners. Business aviation customers include OEMs Airbus, Boeing, Cessna, Dassault Falcon Jet and Gulfstream.

Aerox has received a supplement to its existing parts manufacturing approval covering the manufacture of replacement steel oxygen cylinders and the manufacture of replacement Kevlar composite oxygen cylinders, eligible for installation on a variety of commercial and general aviation aircraft. Aerox now offers direct aircraft oxygen cylinder replacement for Avox, B/E Aerospace, Scott, Zodiac and Puritan Bennett.

Business aviation will be well represented at the Singapore Airshow, despite the fact that just over a month later, most companies will be heading to Shanghai for NBAA’s relaunched Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (Abace). Airbus will give a show debut to its ACJ318 in Singapore, as will Gulfstream with its new G280. Another newcomer will be Ruag’s 228NG business/utility aircraft (a reworking of the Dornier twin turboprop).

Air Works India, an MRO based in Mumbai, was named today at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (Ebace) in Geneva as an authorized service center (ASC) by Dassault Falcon. Initially it will serve as a line service center offering 24-hour troubleshooting, line maintenance and inspections, up to 2B, for the Falcon 900EX and 900EASy series.
