In addition to a complete set of all the ICAO Annex publications, users can also purchase any of the popular flight information region or emergency response guides.

A special group established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in response to the Eyjafjallajökull eruption in Iceland in April 2010 has released a series of practical tools and recommendations to “significantly” mitigate the effect of future volcanic events on international aviation operations, ICAO announced on June 26.

The governing council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), meeting on November 2 in Montreal, adopted a declaration opposing the European Union’s “unilateral” action to include non-EU aircraft operators in its emissions trading scheme (ETS) as of January. By endorsing the declaration, expressed in a “working paper” advanced by 26 countries, ICAO aligned with the international airline industry and a collection of countries including Brazil, China, the U.S., India, Japan and the Russian Federation, in fighting the EU requirement.

Marinus Heijl has joined the International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Associations (ICCAIA) as that organization’s first representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization in Montreal (ICAO).

Heijl retired from ICAO last December after a 27-year career. He served as acting director and deputy director of the Air Navigation Bureau as well as chief of the Air Traffic Management Section.
