Pre-owned business aircraft inventories continued to decline in October, but asking prices–especially for jets–have yet to find a bottom, according to data released this week by industry research firm JetNet. Business jet inventory in October stood at 13.9 percent of the in-service fleet, down 1.3 percentage points from a year ago.
“While the pre-owned business aircraft market continues to show improvements, all indicators have been slow to recover in the first nine months of 2011,” industry research firm JetNet said in a market report released on Friday.

Aftermarket aircraft parts supplier Aeroinv.com will now be listing more than 150,000 part SKUs worth $350 million on Inventory Locator Service. ILS provides an electronic marketplace that enables subscribers to buy and sell parts, equipment and services. The inventory includes major brands of parts and components for most aircraft models.

A recently released report from JetNet indicates that the pre-owned inventory of business jets and turboprops declined further last month, though the aviation information firm said the market still remains very much a buyer’s realm.
Heli-Mart (Booth No. 949) has nearly doubled its MD 500 parts inventory and its affiliate Phoenix Heliparts, a Part 145 repair station, has moved into a new 40,000-sq-ft facility in Mesa, Ariz. Parts supplier Turbine Engine Consultants (TECI) has announced the availability of a consignment program called Excess Inventory Management. TECI says EIM gives customers an easy, reliable and profitable solution for excess and surplus inventory. TECI owns a 75,000-sq-ft secure and climate-controlled warehouse for EIM inventory that has multiple loading docks and a variety of shipping methods.
