The dearth of orders (only five) for the lower-powered Ae270P turboprop single compared with the higher-powered Ae270HP and the difficulties inherent in running two programs at once have led Ibis Aerospace, the joint venture of Czech Aero Vodochody and AIDC of Taiwan, to focus its efforts on the Ae270HP instead. Subsequently, the Ae270P orders were all converted to -HP orders, giving that model a total order book of 69.

JetDirect has expanded its fleet to more than 130 aircraft and increased its regional operating bases to nine with the acquisition of Sunset Aviation, a Northern California charter operator. The 25 new aircraft are based at Novato, Santa Rosa, Concord, Sacramento, Napa and Herber City airports.

Two well known companies that operate and manage charter aircraft and jet travel cards have merged. As reported in AINalerts last month, Berwyn, Pa.-based JetDirect has acquired Weymouth, Mass.-based Sentient Jet. Member travel cards of the two companies will be integrated, and all the charter operations will be unified on one Part 135 certificate with a centralized dispatch center.

Two well known companies that operate charter aircraft and jet travel cards might be near to merging. According to sources close to the situation, Berwyn, Pa.-based JetDirect is negotiating to acquire Norwell, Mass.-based Sentient Jet.

JetDirect Aviation, a private jet services firm based in Berwyn, Pa., acquired Presidential Aviation, an aircraft management, charter and maintenance company with operations in Fort Lauderdale, New York and Los Angeles. JetDirect has been on an acquisition spree since last year.

JetDirect Aviation purchased Regal Aviation, an FBO, maintenance, sales and charter/management company based at Dallas Love Field. JetDirect now owns three FBOs in the U.S. and three FAA repair stations and operates 64 charter aircraft.
