World Fuel Services announced several additions to its Air Elite FBO network. They are Business Aviation Centre Cologne at Germany’s Cologne/Bonn Airport; St. Thomas Jet Center at Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Lehigh Valley Aviation Services at Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown, Pa. Air Elite, which was established from most of the former Avitat group, comprises FBOs that are part of the World Fuel Services global network.

The Air Elite FBO network has added two new facilities: St. Thomas Jet Center and Lehigh Valley Aviation Services. Air Elite is comprised of FBOs that are part of the World Fuel Services global network. These FBOs retain their individual ownership, but agree to a uniform set of high-quality standards for service, amenities, facilities, fuel and products. St. Thomas Jet Center is located at Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and Lehigh Valley Aviation Services is at the Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown, Pa.

Geisinger Medical’s recent delivery of its fourth EC145 is part of an overall fleet replenishment program for the Pennsylvania-based helicopter EMS provider, which operates as Geisinger Life Flight. Geisinger has been operating Eurocopters since 1983 and was the first customer for a hospital-based BK117. Air Methods is completing the medical interior for the helicopter, which is to be based in Danville, Pa.

The United States Golf Association’s U.S. Open will be held from June 11 to 17 in Oakmont, Pa., and Allegheny County Airport FBO Corporate Air is taking reservations for ramp space. Practice rounds are June 11 through 13; the championship event will begin June 14. Corporate Air will provide transportation to the U.S. Open for a per-person flat-rate fee, or visitors can rent Hertz cars at the FBO.

The Fayette County Airport Authority (FCAA) has announced the schedule for its groundbreaking ceremony for the new General Aviation Terminal at Connellsville Airport in the heart of Fayette County, Pa. The ceremony will be held near the Taylorcraft Hangar at the airport at 2 p.m. on March 3. The new general aviation terminal building is said to be the cornerstone of the FCAA’s program to improve general aviation access to the region.

Yingling doesn’t do beer. That’s Yuengling in Pottsville, Pa. Yingling Aviation in Wichita does business aircraft. Most recently, Yingling has created a joint ownership program offering partnerships on refurbished and updated Cessna Conquests. The program was launched with a 441 Conquest II and a 425 Conquest I, for which Yingling’s completion and refurbishment center did major cabin modifications.

The FAA is reviewing a proposed noise-compatibility program for Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) in Pennsylvania. The program, being developed under Part 150, is scheduled to be approved or rejected July 12. Comments are due March 14.
