The 14th annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE), held last week at Geneva’s Palexpo conference center and Geneva International Airport, “will be remembered as one of our strongest shows to date,” said European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) CEO Fabio Gamba. EBACE is jointly hosted by NBAA and EBAA.

The European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE), which will take place from May 20 to 22 this year in the Palexpo Convention Centre at Geneva International Airport, is second only in the business aviation industry calendar to the NBAA Convention in the U.S. and serves as a particular focus for operators in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It also takes place only about one month after ABACE in Shanghai (April 15 to 17), and is organized by NBAA (Booth H529) and the Brussels-based European Business Aviation Association (EBAA).

The 13th annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) opens at the Palexpo center in Geneva next Tuesday. Intelligence gathering ahead of this year’s three-day show suggests that as many as four new jet models could be launched.

Despite a “challenging” European economy, the 12th annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition, which concluded yesterday in Geneva, “was one of the strongest EBACE shows yet, demonstrating its value,” organizers NBAA and EBAA said.

The show attracted 12,638 attendees from 99 countries–both numbers on par with last year’s show. Some 491 exhibitors occupied a record-breaking 2,280 booth spaces at the Geneva Palexpo convention center. The show’s static display area, which was 10 percent larger than last year’s, presented a record-setting 60 aircraft.

The 11th edition of the annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (Ebace) is set to open on Tuesday in Geneva. Joint organizers EBAA and NBAA expect the event to be 16 percent larger than last year’s and, in terms of the area of booked exhibit space, it could even be the biggest yet with almost 500 exhibitors signed to set up shop at Geneva’s Palexpo center.

Geneva-based PrivatAir has gone through a restructuring aimed at making it a leaner, but still profitable company ready to embark on expansion in the Middle East. Formerly part of the Latsis Corp., the aircraft management and charter company was recently bought by a group of private investors, including long-time CEO Greg Thomas.

PrivatAir, the Geneva-based company specializing in executive charter with large aircraft, announced the launch of a training service for employees of private jet operators. The new service aims to help operators cope with upcoming regulatory changes requiring mandatory and regular flight-crew training in areas such as safety procedures, medical requirements, handling of dangerous goods, security and crew resources management.

The ninth annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) starts next Tuesday at Geneva Palexpo in Switzerland, though it’s expected to be a bit more subdued in light of the current global economic woes. This year’s theme–“The Right Tool for Challenging Times”–aims to give attendees the tools needed to improve efficiency, increase productivity, save money and help their businesses grow in this turbulent economy.
