Bombardier has appointed Canada’s Flying Colours to handle an extensive interior modification of seven Bombardier CRJ700 NextGen aircraft for an undisclosed Chinese customer. The work will be conducted over a two-year period and part of the new-look cabins will be fitted out for VIP use.

Embraer has chosen Pratt & Whitney’s PurePower Geared Turbofan to power the next generation of E-Jets, the companies announced Tuesday afternoon.
GE Aviation has named Turkey’s MNG Jet an authorized service center for the CF34-3, which powers the large-cabin Bombardier Challengers (excluding the original 600 series). With this agreement, MNG Jet can perform line maintenance inspections and removal and replacement of engines and engine components.
If nothing else, China’s Comac has shown considerable persistence in its pursuit of certification for the ARJ21-700 regional jet, now more than a decade into development and at least a year-and-a-half away from entry into service.
ExecuJet Middle East has been named by GE Aviation as an authorized service center for the General Electric CF34-3 turbofan, which power Bombardier Challenger 600-series business jets. Under the agreement, the Dubai-based MRO facility will perform line-maintenance inspections and routine installed-engine maintenance, including the removal and replacement of engines and their components. The agreement also allows ExecuJet Middle East to support GE’s new-engine warranties, and to provide GE’s OnPoint solutions.
New staff and a fresh premium Platinum program head up Jet Support Services announcements at NBAA’12. JSSI (Booth No. 3711) has added the Rolls-Royce BR725 engine found on the Gulfstream G650 to its Platinum program lineup. Engines covered under the Platinum program also include support for the Rolls-Royce BR710, Tay 611-8 and -8C, AE3007A1E and -A2E, GE CF34-3A, -3A1, -3A2, -3B, -3B1 and -10E7 engines. JSSI provides cost-per-hour coverage programs for engines and airframes.
Snecma has started running the first Silvercrest turbofan at its Villaroche test facility, near Paris. With 11,000 pounds of thrust, the Silvercrest will power the Cessna Longitude super-midsize business jet. EASA engine certification is slated for 2015 and FAA validation is expected shortly thereafter.
GE Aviation has named Duncan Aviation an authorized service center for CF34-3 engine. Under the agreement, Duncan Aviation is authorized to perform on-wing engine maintenance, OnPoint solution agreement support, warranty support and facilitate access to both GE parts and technical support.
West Star Aviation has acquired the Messier Bugatti Dowty overhaul manuals and technical data for 192-month landing-gear restorations on the Challenger 604. “West Star has made a substantial investment in procuring these manuals,” said Steve Goede, accessories program manager for West Star Aviation. “No technician can perform a Challenger 604 192-month gear restoration without them so it was an easy choice for us.”
NetJets signed a 15-year OnPoint solution agreement with GE Aviation for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of its upcoming CF34-powered Bombardier Challenger 605 fleet, which was part of the fractional provider’s $9.6 billion aircraft order announced last week. NetJets placed a firm order for 25 Challenger 605s with options for up to 50 more, in addition to orders for other business jets.
