Airport and aircraft sales information provider Globalair.com has added GPS locating to its FBO Fuel Prices Apple iOS app. The new GPS functionality allows pilots to use the app in the air to view fuel prices for nearby airports and easily compare prices in a particular area. The FBO Fuel Prices app costs $3.99 (one-time fee) and is continually updated with fuel prices from the more than 3,000 FBOs in the Globalair.com Airport Resource database. Most fuel prices are updated frequently and none is more than 30 days old.

FltPlan is now offering up-to-date fuel price information for more than 3,300 FBOs on its website and mobile apps. The fuel price listing is designed to offer pilots a single source to ascertain fuel prices. The fuel prices appear on FltPlan’s “airport/FBO” or the “area fuel prices” pages. Pilots can also view pricing on the free FltPlan iPad and Android apps online or offline.

Operators can see wide variations in jet-A prices depending on the geographic region and the amount of competition at the airport.

As the cost of jet-A creeps ever upwards, the price last month at several Washington, D.C.-area airport FBOs hovered near $9 per gallon. Signature Flight Support, the lone provider at Reagan National Airport, posted a pump price of $9.18 a gallon, which was still less than the $9.24 per gallon it listed in early March 2011.

Fuel pricing software provider FuelerLinx has released a new mobile app of its product for the iPhone and iPad, making the company’s fuel buying service available to both pilots on the road and scheduler/dispatchers in the hangar.

Internet aviation information provider Globalair.com announced the debut of FBO Fuel Prices, its first real-time iPhone and iPad application designed specifically for locating FBOs with the most competitive fuel prices. Based on user-sortable criteria, the app searches for locations and generates a map and a list of the area airports reporting fuel.

The spike in global oil prices brought about in no small measure by the unrest in the Middle East has driven the price of jet-A above $3 a gallon, prompting airlines throughout the world to adjust their air fares in an effort to compensate. According to the Air Transport Association, $3 jet fuel would raise U.S. airlines’ 2011 fuel bill by some $15 billion. Last year’s fuel bill for U.S. airlines totaled $38.8 billion.

Aviation fuel-management software provider FuelerLinx has unveiled a new fueling pricing aid. The San Francisco-based company, which developed software that automatically finds the latest fuel prices for its customers, is demonstrating its FBOLinx Web site (www.fbolinx.com) here at the NBAA convention (Booth No. 5748).

Due to recent upticks in fuel prices and increasing demand for its services, per-seat charter broker Greenjets raised seat prices by 10 percent, effective November 15.
In addition, the annual fixed trip prices for Greenjetcard members will increase for clients enrolling after that date
