Building on 40 years of experience, Italian supplier Iacobucci expanded its presence this year at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) by announcing deliveries of its first executive seats and unveiling a new food and beverage trolley.

According to Pascal Jallier, head of sales and programs for Iacobucci HF Electronics, the seat has received EASA and FAA approval and the initial ship-set is in service on a Boeing Business Jet.

Imagine a corporate aircraft cleaning crew discovering germs like E. coli, listeria, hepatitis and a few staph infections on the company airplane as they prepare it for the next trip? Paula Kraft, CEO of Atlanta Ga.-based Aviation Catering Consultants (ACC), conducted research on more than three dozen international airplanes (most of them U.S.-based) and found some of these germs on the control wheels, in the galley and in the lavatory.

A leadership team headed by new chairman and CEO Tony Robinson includes Rob Shelton. Both men come from a long tenure with UKIP Media & Events and the Aircraft Interiors Expo, which Robinson founded.

Iacobucci HF Group has been selected to design and manufacture all seats and galley inserts for a new Boeing Business Jet to be completed by Comlux America in Indianapolis.

The Italian cabin components supplier, better known for galley products from coffee makers to ovens, is a relative newcomer to the business jet seating market. Nevertheless, said CEO Lucio Iacobucci, “We invest in research and development every year to maintain our product offering at the top end of the market.”

Italian galley components specialist Iacobucci showed a new line of galley insert items at the NBAA Convention emphasizing simple linear design, intuitive handling, durability and beauty.

According to director of marketing Riccardo Palmeri Lolli, the new design goes deeper than mere appearance. It means the product has a unique design operating philosophy, unique components, design harmony and intuitive interface “to ease use and please the eye.”
