Timco Aerosystems’ new dynamic sled test facility in Wallburg, N.C., has received FAA approval for the testing of aircraft seats to show compliance with regulatory codes 14CFR25.562 and 14CFR23.562. The approval enables Timco to test seats for compliance with critical occupant safety impact standards, including 16-g horizontal and 14-g vertical structural thresholds.

Aircraft Lighting International (ALI) has received parts manufacturer approval (PMA) for its 12-mm LED lights, designed and built as direct replacements for B/E Aerospace and ALI fluorescents.
According to the Mount Sinai, N.Y.-based company, the replacement LEDs require no new wiring, no new lamp holders, no new dimmers and no new controllers. They are fully dimmable and “100-percent interchangeable with existing fluorescent lamps.”

Aircraft Lighting International has introduced an LED reading light bulb that is a direct replacement for 28V DC/AC miniature incandescent halogen lamps.
According to Nick Michelinakis, owner of the Mount Sinai, N.Y.-based company, “absolutely no changes or modifications to the reading light fixtures are necessary.” Other advantages include lower power draw, virtually no heat generation and a five-year warranty.

B/E Aerospace has received an STC for after-market installation of direct and indirect LED lighting in the Cessna Citation 500 series. The Citation 500 STC is the latest step in the certification of the company’s LED system. The company has already provided LED lighting for installation in more than 50 aircraft, including Boeing Business Jets, Challengers, Falcons, Gulfstreams, Merlins and Sabreliners.
