Signature Flight Support has signed an agreement with Frankfurt Airport authorities to open an FBO at Frankfurt Main International Airport. The new location, scheduled to open on December 11, will operate out of the airport’s general-aviation terminal and will offer the full range of the FBO chain’s products, including fuel coordination and concierge services.
Fixed base operator
Skyservice, a Canadian provider of business aviation services, is at Booth No. C7123 celebrating 25 years of continuous operation. Now with full service FBOs in Canada’s three largest markets–Montreal, Toronto and Calgary–Skyservice operates a total of 60 owned and managed business jets, most of which are available for charter.
Amid the recent announcements of major fuel companies withdrawing from the general-aviation arena, independent fuel provider Avfuel continues to see growth and opportunity in the market. Over the past year, the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based company has added 57 new FBOs to its network, bringing its total to well over 600 locations nationwide.
Independent fuel supplier Avfuel has added the first branded dealer outside North America to its network. The Michigan-based company has partnered with George Best Belfast City Airport and its Eurojet Aviation FBO to provide additional fuel and purchasing options at the airport. Traditionally European airports typically have only one fuel supplier, but the management at Belfast City believes the introduction of Avfuel could have benefits.

GlobalAir.com’s new fuel-price app for the Apple iPad/iPhone delivers up-to-date avgas and jet-A prices in a simple and intuitive format. Unlike many other aviation apps that try to cram in as many features as possible, FBO Fuel Prices has only one purpose: to help you find the lowest 100LL and jet-A prices at airports in the U.S.
AvFuel has added a trio of new locations to its distribution network. In Morgantown, W.Va., Morgantown Municipal Airport (MGW) operates the recently remodeled FBO, which provides ground services, aircraft ground handling, fuel and oil sales, hangar and tie-down space and pilot planning services. The airport features a 5,100-foot-long runway and FAA-contracted control tower and can accommodate large aircraft as well as small.
Before the financial crisis in the days of the money-no-object approach to business aviation, the attitude of some FBOs when asked what handling services would cost was a rather snooty, “If you need to ask the price, it’s probably not for you, sir.” Preposterously inflated prices and widespread inconsistency and lack of transparency were all too common in the industry.
Aviation services provider Weston Aviation has finalized a deal with Humberside International Airport authorities to open the first dedicated FBO at the airport on the east coast of England at the beginning of June.
