SR Technics (Stand 1906) has redelivered its 100th aircraft, an Airbus A319 belonging to easyJet, from its Malta MRO facility. The aircraft departed from Malta International Airport last week for London Gatwick after undergoing an immediate layover check (heavy maintenance). SR Technics started operations in Malta in 2010, and easyJet has been the facility’s main customer, along with Finnair, Portugal’s Orbest and France’s Aigle Azur.
GA Telesis and Finnair have entered into an agreement in which GA Telesis has acquired part of Finnair Engine Services and will employ 80 engine-service professionals from Finnair’s existing workforce. The deal comprises the sale of assets and transfer of personnel to GA Telesis Engine Services (Gates). Gates has simultaneously entered into a long-term lease of all of the engine maintenance and test cell facilities from Finnair.
Russia’s action against Finland’s national carrier, Finnair, significantly raises the stakes in the standoff between the European Union (EU) and opponents of its emissions trading scheme (ETS). The European Commission (EC) protested the move, saying that Russia is now in breach of its obligations as a new member of the World Trade Organization.

Estonian Air has chosen Embraer’s line of E-Jets to revamp its entire fleet of narrow-body and regional jets, Embraer announced in late February. The national flag carrier of Estonia and the Brazilian manufacturer have signed a contract for the purchase of three E175s and one E190. Estonian Air also plans to take eight more Embraer aircraft–four E170s and four E190s–under a combination of lease agreements with third parties and leasing companies. At press time the direct purchase from Embraer remained subject to the approval of Estonian Air’s Supervisory Council.

The Lyon-based firm claims that the process it has developed since 1992 provides the most reliable way of protecting against leaks while minimizing aircraft downtime.
