With an estimated total of as many as 8,000 visitors and 500 exhibitors spread over nearly two million square feet in the giant Messe Center in Hamburg, Germany, Aircraft Interiors Expo organizers are expecting continued growth. Before the three-day show closed its doors today, more than 80 percent of the available space for 2014 had already been sold.
The Helicopter Rescue Response Association will hold its annual rescue summit in conjunction with this year’s Heli-Expo on March 4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Attendance is limited to 100. For more information visit www.helirescueassociation.org.
MIU Events and Exhibitions Group India is hosting the Indian Business Aviation Expo from February 21 to 23 at the Hotel Shangri-La in New Delhi. The 2011 event has been expanded to include more exhibitors, and delegates can attend sessions that include the prospects for business aviation in the region, aircraft financing issues in India and regulatory and infrastructure challenges in the emerging country. Registration is $240 per person.
First-day attendance at Heli-Expo’09 broke another record and continued to defy gloomy pre-show predictions. Attendance on day one increased from 15,552 last year to 15,728 this year, and show organizers are speculating that the number might exceed last year’s record total of 17,373. The number of exhibitors totals 585, a nearly 12-percent increase over last year’s 523. Net exhibit space increased 2.25 percent, to 259,000 sq ft.
As a wave of negative signs points to evidence of a prolonged economic downturn, perhaps the biggest surprise at the start of Heli-Expo’09 is how packed the exhibition hall seems.
The number of exhibitors is up about 12 percent compared to last year’s record show in Houston, from 523 to 584.
Reed Exhibitions’ Aircraft Interiors Expo team is launching a new event for the Americas. The first show–Aircraft Interiors Expo Americas–is scheduled for September 9 through 11 in the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif. Concurrent with the event is the new Cabin Innovation Congress, a forum for discussion of cabin concepts and issues that affect the industry.
Aviation Industry Expo 2007 hosted attendees from across the nation and around the globe, including a 30-person contingent from Russia. Nearly 500 companies exhibited this year, including more than 120 first-timers. NATA’s new-format event focusing on the FBO industry was a resounding success, and PAMA’s Maintenance Olympics was once again a big draw.
With this year’s Heli-Expo scheduled for February 6 to 8 in Anaheim, Calif., more than four weeks earlier than last year, news from exhibitors was surprisingly thin at the end of last year. AIN
