Pilots at the offshore helicopter transport company ratified a three-year deal that provides for 4 percent annual wage increases retroactive to March 26, 2012. The new contract covers 235 helicopter pilots flying in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska.

Temsco Helicopters, one of Alaska’s largest operators, has chosen British Columbia-based Latitude Technologies (Booth No. 3235) to provide voice and flight-following satcom equipment and services for its fleet of more than 50 helicopters. The Latitude SkyNode S220-021 device, with two-way Iridium data communication capability, will support Temsco’s construction, pipeline, exploration, SAR and EMS operations from five Alaska bases.

The Alaska Air Group and members of the Bruce Kennedy Memorial Fund announced last month that the two organizations have raised more than $870,000 toward the purchase of a Quest Kodiak, to be donated to Asas de Socorro (Wings of Mercy), a Brazilian aviation organization whose members fly to remote areas of the country’s jungles to provide care to isolated communities.

The managing director of Eastern Atlantic Helicopters located N5144Q in California and brought it back to his home airfield, at Shoreham on England’s south coast.

Alaska Aerofuel of Fairbanks, Alaska (PAFA), cut the ribbon on a new hangar last month, with on-site U.S. Customs office, pilot lounge, snooze rooms, showers, a conference room and passenger lounge with flat-screen plasma televisions and hi-speed Internet access. Ed McClure, director of customer service, said most of the FBO’s linemen have more than 10 years’ experience and consistently turn tech stops in less than 30 minutes.
