Oxford Airport, some 40 miles northwest of London in the UK, has broken ground on a 47,700-sq-ft, three-bay hangar, making it the largest facility built at the airport to date. It will increase the total hangar space available at the airport to 240,500 sq ft. Offering independent landside access, office space and car parking, the new facility is scheduled for completion by December.
UK-based business aviation services group Ocean Sky has received a £10 million ($15 million) injection of fresh capital from its private shareholders. The company will use the money to fund an ambitious expansion of its FBO and aircraft maintenance activities across Europe and intends to announce these plans later this month.
Harrods Aviation has unveiled a comprehensive redesign and refurbishment of its FBO at London Stansted Airport. In work spanning six months, the company has spent more than $1.5 million to give the place a fresh look.
PremiAir, the operator of the London Heliport (also known as Battersea), is to open a new passenger terminal “this spring.” It will replace a 50-year-old building that is to be demolished. The increased ramp space will provide greater capacity at peak times. The new facilities were formally handed over by the builder, Weston Homes, on February 11.
The extensively redeveloped London Heliport is set to reopen this spring. It is owned by charter operator PremiAir and is situated at Battersea on the south bank of the Thames River about four miles from the center of London. The new terminal is directly connected to the new five-star Hotel Verta, which is owned by PremiAir’s parent company von Essen Hotels.
Flying Colours, a specialist in aircraft completion and refurbishment, has delivered its first green completion of a Bombardier Challenger 850. The airplane is in Moscow, where it is being operated and managed by Chartright Air Group. Assisting Flying Colours in the engineering phase was Berletex Aero Design of Montreal.
