Two experts from MedAire (Booth No. N3513) discussed how to devise and execute the best medical and security travel plans for private aircraft users at a seminar here at NBAA 2013 yesterday, entitled “Off the Grid and On Alert.”

David Streitwieser, a board-certified emergency medicine specialist, and Denio Alvarado, who at one time was in charge of covert flight planning for Air Force One, discussed a variety of medical and security challenges facing business jet travelers venturing abroad and how to successfully plan for them.

Sky Hope Network has been formed by five industry professionals to offer business aviation ­support in emergencies. Founder Robin Eissler, vice president of Jet Quest, was involved in the Corporate ­Aviation Responding to Emergencies (Care) relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the earthquake in Haiti early this year.

Five industry professionals recently formed a new nonprofit organization, Sky Hope Network, to offer business aviation support in emergencies. Sky Hope founder Robin Eissler, vice president of Jet Quest, was heavily involved in the Corporate Aviation Responding to Emergencies (Care) relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the devastating earthquake in Haiti earlier this year.

The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) is organizing its first workshop on emergency response planning (ERP) on September 9 and 10. The event, which will be held in Brussels, Belgium, is intended to complement EBAA's recently published emergency response guidance manual. The workshop will cover ERP basic principles, general guidance and the framework of an emergency response.

The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) is launching a new template for an emergency response plan that it wants to encourage operators to adopt. The plan will be introduced here at EBACE tomorrow afternoon at a briefing on emergency response planning scheduled for 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
