Embraer Executive Jets and Arab Wings inked a purchase agreement for a Lineage 1000 this week at the Dubai Airshow. The bizliner will be managed on behalf of an undisclosed customer and be available for third-party charter, Embraer said. It will join a Legacy 600 and 650 already on Arab Wings’ air operator certificate and will operate out of the charter management company’s base in Amman, Jordan. Delivery of the airplane is scheduled for the first quarter of next year.
With the number of Lineage 1000s already in service worldwide approaching a dozen, and more than a few in the Middle East region, Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer is at the Dubai Airshow with its new Lineage 1000E, an airplane that features a serious makeover from nose to tail.
Embraer Executive Jets (Chalet A7) is enjoying strong sales with a cumulative total of more than 630 sold in 50 countries to date, according to Colin Steven, the unit’s vice president of sales and marketing, Europe, Middle East and Africa. “We delivered 99 jets in both 2011 and 2012, despite the total market deliveries having dropped 6 percent in the same period,” he said.

Teterboro, N.J.-based Jet Aviation Flight Services (Booth No. N1932) announced here in Las Vegas that it has received authorization from the Bermuda Department of Civil Aviation (BDCA) as a Continued Airworthiness Management Organization (Camo), allowing the company to manage the maintenance of Bermuda-registered aircraft.
“This approval expands our operational base globally by enabling us to continue to meet our customers’ growing needs,” said Don Haloburdo, the company’s v-p and general manager. “We are pleased to meet the high-level standards of the BDCA.”

If you want to see the inside of a really big business jet–one that’s the size of an airliner–at the NBAA 2013 static display at Henderson Executive Airport, you may encounter a silk rope draped across the handrails at the bottom of the passenger stairs. A professionally attired man or woman standing by the rope will explain that the aircraft is being shown and then politely suggest, “Please come back later.” Later could take a long time.
Embraer Executive Jets will hold four more Embraer Executive Operator Conferences (EEOCs) over the coming month, in addition to one held for the Legacy 600/650 on Tuesday in Jakarta. Today in Bangalore, Embraer is holding an EEOC for the Phenom 100 and 300. Next Monday and Tuesday it will hold conferences for the Legacy 600/650 and Lineage 1000 in Dubai, and it will repeat this EEOC for these three jets on October 10 and 11 in Hong Kong. Finally, the EEOC North America will be held in Los Cabos, Mexico, for the Phenom 100 and 300 from November 4 to 6.
Embraer Executive Jets said yesterday that it will announce enhancements to its current business jet portfolio, including a “new version” of its Lineage 1000 bizliner, at the NBAA Convention next month in Las Vegas. In addition, the Brazilian manufacturer’s midsize Legacy 500 will make its NBAA debut at the static display at Las Vegas Henderson Executive Airport.
At this tenth annual LABACE show, Embraer has moved from its usual chalet near the show entrance to the other end of the static display ramp, where it has room for one example of every airplane it has in production–the Lineage 1000, Legacy 650, Phenom 300 and Phenom 100–along with the third Legacy 500 in the certification program, as well as a Legacy 450 cabin mockup. The Legacy 500 is making its public debut in Brazil this week.
