JFI Jets (located here at the Epic Fuel stand, Booth No. C10807) has announced that its JFI JetCenter in Long Beach, Calif., has joined the Epic FBO Network. It has also become an Epic Aviation and UVair branded fuel reseller, and its customers can now earn Bravo Rewards and use the Epic card at Long Beach, said the company.

“We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Epic and UVair and the outstanding service that we can provide together to our customers,” said Robert Seidel, CEO of JFI Jets.

Now embarking on its second year of existence, the UVair FBO network has added its 20th member. Great Circle Flight Services at Alaska’s Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is a primary fuel stop for corporate aircraft transiting between the Far East and North America. “We are pleased to align Great Circle with a dynamic partner who understands the importance of Anchorage as a global crossroads,” said Great Circle president Justin Charon. The FBO opened in 2005 and provides 24/7 service.

L-3 Cincinnati Electronics says that its new NightWarrior 640 mid-wave infrared imaging system is a major technical advance. Designed for carriage by unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) and other small applications, the camera is five times smaller and lighter than previous MWIR systems, and draws four times less power, according to the maker.

Ulrich Dembinski, CEO of Revue Thommen, announced that the company has sold the first lot of searchlights to a major OEM. The company is not yet disclosing the customer.

Revue Thommen unveiled a new, compact searchlight with optional infrared (IR) filtering and laser-designator capability here at Heli-Expo.

The digital revolution has been closely followed by high-definition TV, uncooled infrared detectors, four-axis stabilization and processing and display innovations.

Bell’s Aeronautical Accessories brand will distribute the TrueView Enhanced Visions Systems infrared thermal imaging system worldwide. It is currently certified via supplemental type certificate in the U.S. and Canada for the Bell 206B and 206L. TrueView is developing systems for the Bell 407 and 429.

The Miami branch of the United States Customs and Border Protection (CPB) Office of Air and Marine has taken delivery of two AgustaWestland AW139s. The helicopters are equipped with multi-payload electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors, laser designator combined with EO/IR and multimode weather radar and communication systems. Systems integration was performed by L-3 Communications in Waco, Texas.

Montreal-based CMC Electronics has agreed to sell its Cincinnati Electronics business unit to L-3 Communications for $172 million in cash, while simultaneously signing a long-term supplier agreement with Cincinnati Electronics for infrared enhanced vision system (EVS) sensors. CMC Electronics is currently developing an EVS with Bombardier and Thales for the Global Express.

Max-Viz, has expanded the list of helicopters on which its EVS-1000 thermal imaging system has been certified since Heli-Expo 2006, announcing the addition of the Bell 206 and LongRanger series, the 407, 412 and 412EP.
