Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai became the first in India to offer a dedicated facility for international private jet travel when it was allowed to operate international flights from its general aviation terminal in the middle of April.

In the continuing development of Al Bateen Executive Airport into a dedicated business aviation hub, the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), owner of the airport, and Jet Aviation Group signed a lease agreement at EBACE yesterday that will make the aviation services company the first independent MRO provider on the field.
The biennial Dubai Airshow, to be held from November 13 to 17 at the Dubai Airport Expo, is expected to draw as many as 1,000 exhibitors from more than 50 countries and attract more than 55,000 trade visitors. At the 2009 event, business aircraft accounted for roughly a quarter of all the aircraft on display, and the organizers expect similar numbers this year, with business aircraft accounting for 40 of the expected 140 on static display.
When the global financial crisis took much of the fizz out of the champagne lifestyle in France’s millionaire’s playground along the Côte-d’Azur it was not surprising that the main private aviation airports there took a big hit in terms of traffic levels. But now the recovery is in full swing, according to the management of the region’s main business aviation gateways Niceand Cannes-Mandelieu.
Bombardier has positioned a PartsExpress Challenger 601 at Dubai International Airport to deliver parts, technicians and test equipment to AOG Learjets, Challengers and Globals across the Middle East and into Turkey, Kazakhstan, India and North Africa. Bombardier launched PartsExpress in the U.S. in 2007 and in Europe in 2009.

Fujairah International Airport, here at the MEBA show for the first time (Booth No. C740), is touting the benefits business aircraft operators can find at a site that is far less crowded than Dubai International Airport. Fujairah has a new FBO and, from 2011, a new highway in and out of the emirate will shorten the 48-mile drive to the center of Dubai to about an hour.
The inauguration in June of Dubai World Central's Al Maktoum International Airport marked the completion of the project's Phase 1 and another significant milestone in Dubai's pursuit of air transport preeminence.
The fourth Middle East Business Aviation (MEBA) show is off to a strong start, with exhibitor numbers climbing more than 40 percent from 2008 and registered visitors topping the 7,000 mark, up from 5,500. But this could be the show's last staging here in Dubai for the time being, with plans being made to relocate the event to another prime location in the Arabian Gulf.
