Dart Helicopter Services affiliate Dart Aerospace (Booth No. 4628) has received Transport Canada approval for its quick-release helicopter utility basket for the Bell 407 and multiple models of the Bell 206. Approvals from the FAA and EASA are pending.
If the Dart Helicopter Services booth (No. 866) here seems more crammed than it did at previous Heli-Expos, chalk it up to success. The Piney Flats, Tenn.-based company reports it added some 1,000 new accessories to its product portfolio last year, increasing its offerings to more than 2,500 aftermarket helicopter accessories. The company has 15 offices worldwide and distributes to customers in 120 countries.
Accessories make an outfit. They also make a helicopter, or at least they make it better. That’s the theory with which Jeff Shapiro launched Dart Helicopter Services (Booth No. 2263) in 2005, and it has apparently been a successful one.
