Farnborough International Airshow organizers are promising that both the static and flying displays for the 2012 air show will be as full as ever. Behind the scenes the display roster is fully booked, but airframers have yet to give clearance for all the aircraft to be publicly confirmed.

After spending last year traveling the globe with world-renowned aviators, Breitling’s first (of 500) Naval Centennial Limited Edition Airwolf timepiece is being auctioned online to benefit the National Flight Academy. The auction will close at 5 p.m. EST on February 29. The first-off-the-line watch was worn by aviators in a global journey that started with Commander Mark Kelly on Space Shuttle Endeavour’s last flight into space in May.

Breitling(Static AA168) recently ran a photo competition on Facebook that had the theme of capturing the spirit of aviation. Jeremy Hampton from Overland Park, Kansas, won first prize with a picture of a child admiring an aircraft that beat 5,000 other entries. The honor also got him an all-expenses-paid training course for a pilot’s license.

Aircraft owners in the U.S. are bristling after the Federal Communications Commission last month announced plans to impose a total ban on the “certification, manufacture, importation, sale or continued use of 121.5-MHz ELTs.” FAA regulations require U.S.-registered aircraft to carry fixed emergency locator transmitters, but the rule doesn’t specify whether they should operate on 121.5 or 406 MHz.

French executive charter operator and broker Aviaxess has launched what it claims to be the first frequent flyer loyalty program in the business aviation market. It is promoting the new Aviacard here at the Paris Air Show in association with its partner Breitling, whose exclusive watches are among the rewards that customers can earn through the new program.
