An Alabama circuit court has demanded that Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport’s board of directors release information related to the March 22 accident that killed a 10-year-old boy and injured his mother and two younger brothers. The accident occurred when a flight information sign (Mufid) in a newly renovated concourse broke lose from its mountings and fell forward, trapping the four people.

The UK’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch is probing the crash of a Cessna Citation II that closed Birmingham Airport for several hours on November 19. The airplane crashed at around 3:35 p.m. local time in foggy conditions. According to the airport, the twinjet hit the antenna of the ILS as it was on the approach to land. The Citation was operated by Liverpool-based charter operator AD Aviation.

The former Maersk Air, reconstituted in a management buyout in June and renamed Duo, announced last month that it has severed its relationship with British Airways, after the UK flag carrier said it would cut in half its operations from Duo’s Birmingham, UK base.
