Brazilian aviation services provider Lìder Aviação is the new “exclusive representative” in Brazil for Bombardier Aerospace. Lìder, based in Belo Horizonte, will be responsible for sales of the Canadian OEM’s Globals, Challengers and Learjets. The two companies have a long history together. Lìder was the company that introduced the Learjet in Brazil in 1968. It is also the Brazilian representative of U.S.-based Beechcraft for the company’s turboprop and piston aircraft.

Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes has received authorization from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to provide conventional and electrostatic painting, weighing and recalibration services for other companies’ aircraft in its maintenance center in Confins, Belo Horizonte. ANAC’s authorization covers the Boeing 737-700 and 737-800, identical to those of Gol’s fleet, as well as the 737-300.

Dallas Airmotive, BBA Aviation’s engine repair and overhaul (ERO) company, has opened a sales and service regional headquarters in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The facility will support military, commercial, business and general aviation aircraft in Brazil and the wider region with technical assistance, import/export management, logistics, field service and line replaceable unit stocking. It is located near Pampulha Airport in Belo Horizonte.

BBA Aviation ERO (engine repair and overhaul) is expanding its global reach. The parent company of Dallas Airmotive, H+S Aviation and Premier Turbines has extended its international service support network with the opening of regional centers in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Mumbai, India. The centers will provide service to include troubleshooting, parts support, borescope inspection and on-wing hot section inspection and repair.

Líder Aviação, headquartered in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, recently became a Raisbeck-authorized installation center to support Raisbeck Learjet performance system sales. The company will be responsible for selling, installing and maintaining Raisbeck’s ZR Lite and aft fuselage locker for the Learjet 30 series.

According to today’s issue of ASI Group’s “Hot Spots” security newsletter, civil aviation authorities in Brazil will impose temporary restrictions on private flights. “This move is a consequence of the decision on the part of civilian air traffic controllers in Brasilia to increase the mandatory distance between aircraft from five to 10 nautical miles,” ASI Group said.

ABC Taxi Aéreo, the executive jet service controlled by Brazilian industrial conglomerate Algar, recently acquired Belo Horizonte-based jet maintenance company Alfa Manutenção de Aeronaves. With the acquisition, ABC will expand its maintenance operations beyond turboprops and into jets. ABC expects to have 25 percent of the turboprop maintenance market and 25 percent of the jet maintenance market share by year-end.
